Notes for Carmine C. Caliendo
Family lore says b. Naples, but Mom thinks it may have been Scisciano, a town near Naples.

It's unclear when he came to America. We know that he came here, went back to Italy, and returned with Nel in tow. Also, evidently, his father joined him here after a few years but didn't like it and went back to Italy. My grandfather appears to be working for the railroad by 1900 or 1901, per docs Mom found 5/2001. Before the RR he apparently worked as a shoehine boy.

Mom's recollection is that he had a sister or nephew or both living in the town of Nola when she (Mom) was a young girl.
